This former school is now a large, welcoming and comfy hostel. It’s ideal if you’re travelling solo or as a couple or family and you want a beautiful location from which you can see and explore so much of what makes Iceland such a popular destination.

The Bedrooms
Choose from family bedrooms (with a double bed and bunk beds), double bedrooms, twin bedrooms and single bedrooms. Many have a desk and chair that’s ideal for remote workers and digital nomads. And in some rooms you can wake up to beautiful views of the lake or the mountains.
The Bathrooms
All the hostel’s X bathrooms offer large and welcoming spaces in which you can freshen up under a shower and be ready for a new day of exploring Iceland. Shampoos, gels and conditioners are provided, but you’ll need to bring your own towels.
Free Wi-Fi
Even though the hostel is in a rural location surrounded by nature, there’s still a great Wi-Fi service. So it’s easy to keep in touch with friends and family back home, as well as clients, customers and colleagues if you’re here to work.
Laundry Room
Exploring Iceland can get your clothes a little dirty. But the onsite laundry gives you somewhere to clean up and get everything looking as good as new again, ready to get messy all over again!
Sports Hall
How many hostels have you stayed in with a sports hall? As a former school, there’s space in which you can play basketball, netball, football, or work out or run around.
Guest Lounge
This relaxing room for all guests has a variety of comfy seats on which you can relax, plus tables you can rest your cups of coffee or put your laptops. There’s also a TV in here if you have time to watch it!
Outdoor Facilities
The Views
Undoubtedly one of the biggest reasons for choosing to stay here is the stunning scenery and the opportunity you’ll have to enjoy unspoilt views of the Northern Lights. (Please note that we can’t guarantee you’ll see a light show during your stay!)
Garden, Terrace & Playground
Your shared outdoor space includes a beautiful garden and terrace where you can find a quiet spot for some relaxation – maybe take a book with you to read. There’s a BBQ here too, so if you fancy grilling up some treats, you can! To keep younger guests busy and to help them burn off all that energy, there’s a children’s playground (well, this used to be a school after all!)
Free Parking
There’s plenty of room to leave your vehicle in the on-site car park which is free throughout your stay. So you won’t have far to carry your luggage (although please note there are several steps to climb from the car park into the hostel).

Driving here is recommended as there is plenty of parking. Keflavik International Airport is 79km away.
The Location
The hostel is situated in a quiet location just 20km north of Selfoss, which is the nearest major town. There are plenty of grocery stores in Selfoss from where you can buy your favourite food and drink to take back to the hostel.
